Rev. Dr. John F. Johnson
Meet Pastor Johnson
Rev. Johnson began ministry at Mount Olivet in September 2000. He previously served congregations in New Jersey and North Carolina. He graduated from Concordia College New York. He attended the seminary at Concordia, St. Louis, where he received a Master of Divinity in 1988. Later in his ministry, he attended Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC and earned a Doctor of Ministry degree. Rev. Johnson has served as a Circuit Counselor, Secretary of the Southeastern District, as a Lutheran Women's Missionary League Zone Counselor, and as District Counselor of the Chesapeake District of the LWML. Johnson is married and has one daughter.

Meet Emmett Aldrich
Emmett is a third generation LCMS Lutheran, with roots at Grace Lutheran Church in Greensboro, NC. He was confirmed and married at Mount Olivet, and his children were baptized and confirmed here. He retired from federal service in 2008, after serving at several U.S. cabinet departments, including Housing and Urban Development, Interior, and Transportation. He is a certified mediator and has used these skills for the DC Superior Court, DC Metropolitan Police Department and elsewhere in the community. His recent focus is on elder care and care giver mediations. Emmett's uses a consensus building approach as our congregation president.
