Rev. Dr. John F. Johnson

Meet Pastor Johnson

Rev. Johnson began ministry at Mount Olivet in September 2000. He graduated from Concordia College New York, then attended the seminary at Concordia, St. Louis, receiving a Master of Divinity in 1988. He previously served congregations in New Jersey and North Carolina.  Later in his ministry, he attended Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC and earned a Doctor of Ministry degree.  Rev. Johnson has served as a Circuit Counselor, Secretary of the Southeastern District, as a Lutheran Women's Missionary League Zone Counselor, and as District Counselor of the Chesapeake District of the LWML.  Rev. Johnson is married and has one daughter.

On Appreciation Sunday 2018, Pastor Johnson shared a message that ended with, "Overall, I wouldn't do anything else because nothing else causes me to cherish my relationship with the Lord like being a minister.  The ability to help someone grow in Christ or become more of the Christian he or she could be is all the blessing a minister could ever ask for.  It is my hope to be blessed with another 12-15 years of effective, prosperous and stimulating ministry to the glory of God."
